Young coconuts (green coconut) are also known as Thai coconuts. The skin and some of the husk have been removed and the eyes are at the base. They’re cut down from palm trees and uniformly shaped for shipping, though the sizes and amount of water inside may vary (from 3/4 cup to 2 1/2 cups, sometimes more). Coconut water is highly nutritious and the cream colored flesh is soft enough to puree into smoothies and craft cocktails.
