Description
Walter Massas passion for the Colli Tortonesi has become a widespread phenomenon across Piedmont, located at high altitudes on an array of clay, chalk, and sand soils. Massa farms 22 hectares in eight distinctly different zones, producing wines from local varieties. The 2001 Monleale ferments spontaneously and ages in barrique for two years, giving way to a cherry and raspberry noted wine, with tight-knit acidity and complex age-worthiness.
